An Old Drawing
I drew this picture over ten years ago. It is one of only a few I have done in color. I drew it with a fine point pen, and colored it using soft pastels. I had no clue as to how to use the pastels, and I have never attempted again. It's been hanging in my dad's bedroom, and I borrowed it to put up here.

I know one thing, for never experiencing pastels before you seemed to have done very well with them. I particularly like how you did a mixed medium with ink. You should try doing some monochrome works like this using ink and one (or two) pastels and see what you come up with. It would be interesting.

This has always been one of my favorites that you've drawn, I've always shown it to anyone who has went to Mama's with me. There is another picture you drew that I think you should post...it's your self portrait when you still lived at home. You sat on a bean bag in front of a mirror and drew yourself. It was perfect...if you still have it, why don't you post it? Love, Sis
I like everything about this piece. The colors, the textures from the pastels, the calm and determined attitude of the man. Very nice illustration.
janet, I love this it is touching and beautiful! You can see the character in the man's face and hand holding the cane.

Your works are wonderful, Janet - you HAVE to paint and draw again ... this image is really good and revising your blog I found that about the lost sockets .. ha ha ha! - very good.
