I had an Etch-A-Sketch when they first came out... This took some mastery at those knobs to be able to do. I agree with Anon; not a simple task.

Cardboard boxes are good!
When Adam was 4-6, he unwrapped his Christmas presents and then started playing with the boxes!

Your creativity has gone through the roof, baby! I love all your experimentation.

My verification word is opcup. I am inspired:

o p cup, o p cup,
how I dread the day I need thee!
To be young an mobile
and able to stand
with healthy bladder -
this is my prayer!

I was going to do really simple, but got a little carried away, so I was really disappointed that I wasn't able to photograph this well. The middle panel on the right side actually has a wood grain look that doesn't show up, and some freeform flowers under the wording seem to have disappeared. For some Cool etch a sketch art, go to the official site and check it out:

When I was 8 or so, I "etched" the entire etch-a-sketch to pass the time on a trip to my grandparents' house. (If you've never done this, this reveals the mechanisms beneath.) Of course, an annoyed cousin shook it all up again...

By far, my favorite of all the "simple" submissions I've viewed this week!

I had an Etch-a-Sketch when I was a child....now I'm going to have to seek one out for my daughter!

Thanks for reminding me how much fun I had creating with mine!

Etcha Sketch! Cool idea and Etch-ing. Etcha Sketch was tested on some art students in a programme the other day during a life drawing session and they were surprisingly good. I used to just make the joined up squarey things. ..::o

Very cool! Being that this seems to be the * "age of photoshop" *(not sure if that's a bad thing- though things done by hand seem more precious)-- I at first thought you got an Etch-A-Sketch - took a photo of it- and then photoshopped the rest. But you did it the not so 'simple' way- awesome.

Very cool! I can never do etch a sketch with out getting messed up on the direction the thing is going with a turn of the knob...you did a great job!
